Technical Caracteristics

Product based on special cements, selected aggregates and additives, reinforced with fibres.

Advantages and Uses

  • Sulphate-resistant cement.
  • R3 Type repair mortar according to EN-1504-3
  • Great adhesion to concrete and medium module.
  • Thixotropic, no sagging in ceiling application. Permeable to water vapour.
  • Compensated shrinkage to minimize the risk of cracks.
  • Great resistance to chloride.
  • Resistance to freeze-thaw cycles.
  • Great workability.
  • High resistance to carbonation.
  • Suitable for exterior interior and use.
  • Resistant to open air.
  • Repair of structural elements such as: Balcony edges, beams/columns of commercial and residential buildings, prefabricated concrete panels.
  • Levelling of concrete surfaces.canals, tunnels, bridge cantilevers, and balconies coatings.
  • Repairs in elevator pits, inspection chambers, etc.
  • Flooring repairs.

Suitable Substrates

  • Substrates must be sound, clean, and free of grease, dust, and release agents (minimum resistance to traction of 1,5 MPa)
  • If necessary, prepare it preferably using mechanical means and expose the sound concrete.
  • Moisten very absorbent substrates until saturation, avoiding puddles. Apply the product once the surface has turned matt.
  • Make sure that reinforcements are free of rust, greases, oils, or any other released agents. If they are rusted, proceed to clean them using sandblasting or a wire brush. Protect from corrosion with IMPLAREST C.
  • In walls and floors encounters, widen the joint to about 10 mm wide by cutting it with a radial saw, then remove the cut material.

Application Procedure

Mixing the mortar:

  • Add 2/3 of water and progressively add the powder while stirring. Then add the rest of the water and mix for two more minutes Do not prepare more material than the one to be used in 30 minutes (at +2ºC).

Application:

  • Apply MORCEMREST RF 35 with a trowel or machine-sprayed, pressing to ensure its adhesion and to compact the material firmly.
  • MORCEMREST RF 35 can be applied in several coats, being 5 mm the minimum thickness per coat. In vertical surfaces, thicknesses of up to 35 mm can be applied without the need for formwork. On horizontal surfaces, the maximum thickness is 75 mm.
  •  In walls and floors encounters fill the complete width of the joint.

Curing:

  • Protect against wind, sun, and sun during hardening. To prevent excessive drying, it is advisable to cover the surface with damp sackcloth or plastic during the curing process.
  • The curing process is essential in all cases.

Recommendations

  • Do not add more water than recommended to the mortar and do not remix.
  • Do not apply the product under 5ºC nor above 30ºC temperature.
  • Do not add cement, sand, or other substances that may affect the properties of the material.
  • On substrates exposed to exceptional conditions, the use of the epoxy-based bonding primer IMPLAREST EP is recommended.
  • The tools and equipment should be cleaned with solvent immediately after use to prevent the material from hardening, which will need to be removed by mechanical means.
  • Consult with the Technical Department for any application not specified in this Technical Data Sheet.
  • For any information regarding safety in handling, transportation, storage, and use of the product, please refer to the label and the updated version of the product's Safety Data Sheet.
  • If the substrate is sufficiently rough, no primer/bonding bridge will be necessary; in this case, the substrate must be moistened beforehand. The surface must not be waterlogged. If a primer/bonding bridge is required, apply IMPLAREST C.
  • For manual applications, compact firmly between layers; in areas where compaction is difficult, we recommend application using mechanical processes.
  • For more information on the preparation of concrete or steel reinforcement, consult the recommendations given in the UNE – EN – 1504 – 10 standard.
