Technical Caracteristics

Product based on acrylic resin, mineral pigments, and organic and inorganic additives.

Advantages and Uses

  • Anti-mould.
  • Rainproof.
  • Permeable to water vapour, allowing the substrate to breathe.
  • Non-flammable.
  • Easy and quick to apply.
  • Smooth finish.
  • Suitable for the vast majority of substrates.
  • Ageing, open environments and UV rays resistant.
  • Excellent adhesion on traditional construction substrates.
  • Washable.

This product has a protection against fungus, mould and algae which provides a long-lasting preventive and retardant effect although not permanent. The duration of this affectation depends on the exposure to humidity and the concentration of spores in the area, which create especially favourable conditions for the growth of micro-organisms. Therefore, periodic preventive maintenance treatment is recommended.

Suitable Substrates

  • Compatible with cement mortar substrates, concrete, one-coat mortar, gypsum, plasterboard, and painted substrates.
  • Not compatible with fresh lime plasters, resins or varnishes, distemper paints, lime, or silicate paints.
  • Traditerm external thermal insulation system prepared for the execution of the final decorative finish.
  • Substrates must be clean, free from dust, greases, old paint, oils, fungus, mould, and any other kind of product.
  • On surfaces with loose particles, apply FIJAMOR primer beforehand.
  •  Apply a FONDO MORCEMCRIL coat before applying MORCEMCRIL.

Application Procedure

  • Shake until getting a perfect mixture.
  • The product is already ready to use, and it should be applied with a stainless-steel trowel.
  • First coat: Apply the product using a stainless-steel trowel over the entire surface, with an approximate thickness of 0.5 mm, ensuring the surface is as uniform as possible.
  • Once applied and the stickiness has diminished, any small imperfections should be evened out using a slightly damp sponge or a slightly damp sponge roller.
  • Second coat: Repeat the same procedure as with the first coat. The total thickness of both coats should be approximately 1 mm to ensure the required protection of the system.
  • It is recommended to work uniformly and without interruption in small areas (up to 2 m² per worker) due to the complexity of the application. The surface size will depend on the number of skilled workers and each worker’s capacity. For larger areas, it is advisable to create working joints.
  • The choice of tool affects the texture of the surface, so the same type should always be used on a construction site. To obtain a uniform structure, it is crucial to make sure that adjacent surfaces are structured by the same person.
  • Due to the natural aggregates and granules in the product, slight colour variations between different batches may occur. Adjacent surfaces should use product from the same batch to ensure consistency.
  • Cleaning of the tools will be conducted with abundant water immediately after being used. Any dried particles should be removed with solvents such as turpentine.
  • The maximum permissible thickness for this product is 1.5 mm, applied in 0.5 mm coats. Any thickness exceeding the specified coat or total thickness may cause cracking.

Recommendations

  • Do not apply under 5ºC nor above 30ºC, under direct sun light, rain, or healing risk.
  • Do not apply on floors or on slopes of less than 45º.
  • Do not apply in thicknesses greater than 0.5 mm (1.5 mm maximum in three coats).
  • Flatness criteria for the substrate are stricter than for standard finishes in order to achieve an optimal result, so it is highly recommended to apply the base coat in three hands, giving priority to fine flatness in the final one.
  • The smooth finish of Morcemcril Ultra Fino enhances the water ripple effect on surfaces when exposed to raking light—this is a normal occurrence in manually applied systems, and all construction stakeholders should be informed. A sample working area is recommended for approval.
  • Protect the upper surfaces of the render from the penetration of rainwater.
  • Pay special attention to environmental temperature changes, humidity, wind, etc. These factors influence the drying process and the workability of the product, potentially causing differences in the final appearance of the application.
  • Protect the surrounding area of the surface to be applied and clean any possible splashes with water before the product dries or hardens.
