Pumaflex

Product that provides continuous coverage capable of preventing water seepage and the consequent problems resulting from dampness. It is a coating that completely adheres to the surface, with high flexibility, elasticity and mechanical strength, and which withstands excellently the conditions of its application outside and keeps its properties for a very long time due to its excellent durability. It is especially suitable for preventing water seepage in terraces, flat roofs, tiled roofs, party walls, expansion joints, channels, downspouts, etc,… In general, it can be applied on any external surface that may be passable provided that this is not daily or intensive.

Technical Caracteristics

Waterproofing coating made up of an aqueous dispersion of acrylic copolymers, loads with high mechanical strength, additives and special pigments.

Advantages and Uses

  • Excellent water tightness and tightness to liquids in general.
  • High resistance to traction and to elongation to breakpoint.
  • Extraordinary resistance to ageing, to abrasion and puncture.
  • Good homogenization of the product and easy application.
  • Film resistant to weather conditions and ultraviolet rays.
  • Excellent resistance to abrasion.
  • Good filling of cracks and resistant to microcracking.
  • Greater mechanical strength with the use of fiberglass mesh.

Suitable Substrates

NEW SUBSTRATES

  • Remove dust, grease and other contaminants.
  • Apply the paint according to the instructions for use.
  • Concrete, cement, render, brick, stone, fiber cement, etc…. must be set, dry, firm and free of dirt and grease.
  • Treat efflorescence or saltpeter with diluted acid solution, rinse and allow to dry.
  • The surfaces should be free of moss and microorganisms, dry or slightly damp.
  • If there are cracks, holes or chips, repair before applying the product.

OLD SUBSTRATES

  • Concrete, cement, render, stone, fiber cement, etc…. must be set, dry, firm and free of dirt and grease.
  • Treat efflorescence or saltpeter with diluted acid solution, rinse and allow to dry.
  • Remove mold contamination with bleach or other suitable decontaminant, and also remove any loose paint or other building materials.
  • On surfaces in poor condition, with lack of cohesion or damp problems, apply a water-repellent sealant beforehand.
  • If there are cracks, holes or chips, repair before applying the product.
  • Old paint should be brushed to remove loose particles, cleaned and degreased.
  • Apply the paint according to the instructions for use.

Application Procedure

  • Stir until evenly mixed.
  • Dilute the first coat by 5% with water.
  • Apply the second and subsequent coats undiluted, crosswise to the application of the previous coat.
  • For optimum performance and durability of the waterproofing, at least 1.5 l should be used per m² of surface.
  • On surfaces that are frequently passed through, fiberglass or polyester cloth reinforcement should be laid on the first undiluted coat. The subsequent cuts of this must be overlapped by about 10 cm, leaving on the top the part that coincides with the fall of the floor slope. The reinforcement must be stretched tight, with no folds and then covered with the subsequent coats of the waterproofing product.
  • The application can be carried out with a brush, roller or spray gun after the respective stirring and dilution of the product.
  • The tools should be cleaned with water before the paint dries.

Recommendations

  • If there are fillers or asphalts in the expansion joints it is recommended to “bridge them” appropriately with polyester elastic reinforcement.
  • Where necessary, correct slopes to prevent water from pooling.
  • At the joints with vertical surfaces it will be necessary to reinforce with fiberglass or other suitable material applying Pumaflex up to a height of 15 cm.
  • Do not apply at temperatures below 5⁰C.
  • Do not apply with relative humidity above 85% or on wet substrates.
  • Do not apply under any circumstances if rain is forecast.
  • Store in a cool, dry place.

Packaging and Storage

Containers of 0.75, 4 and 15L.
Shelf life: 24 months in its sealed original packaging, in a cool, dry place protected from weather conditions and direct sunlight, avoiding exposure to temperatures lower than 5ºC or higher than 35ºC.
