Morcem® Dry SF Plus
Impermeable mortar of two-components additives for the execution of impermeable coatings.
Product based on gray cement of high resistance, selected arid, special additives and resins.
Carbonation rate.
Through tests carried out at the Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Science in accordance with standard UNE EN 12390-10 - Determination of the resistance to carbonation of concrete at atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide over a period of one year, Morcem Dry SF Plus has been found to have a carbonation rate (K) of 2.08 mm/year0.5 in the case of samples subjected to freeze-thaw testing with thermal shock and immersion in a saturated solution of de-icing salts, and a carbonation rate (K) of 0 mm/year0.5 (no carbonation profile) in the case of samples not subjected to freeze-thaw testing with thermal shock and immersion in a saturated solution of de-icing salts.
These values can be incorporated into models for estimating the corrosion service life of reinforced concrete elements and used to calculate the depth of carbonation using the expression: P = K * t0.5, where ‘P’ is the depth of carbonation expressed in mm, “K” is the rate of carbonation expressed in mm/year0.5 and ‘t’ is the time expressed in years.
