Additional information

Advantages and Uses

  • Good mechanical characteristics.
  • Good draining capacity.
  • Diverse range of finishes.
  • Conserves the rustic appearance of roads and their natural colour.
  • Total integration into the environment through the use of natural materials.
  • High resistance to growth of weeds.
  • Does not generate mud or dust.
  • Does not generate runoff areas.
  • Its components are 100% recyclable and natural.
  • Possible choice of a range of natural colours.
  • Solution for natural looking paving such as footpaths, rural and agricultural roads, parks and alleys, public and private gardens, residential areas, playgrounds, children's play areas, camp sites, historical heritage areas, sports centres, bicycle paths, tree basins, etc.

Suitable Substrates

  • Substrates must be able to withstand, without becoming deformed, the pressure received from the traffic on the surface area of PAVILAND.
  • It is appropriate isolation of tree basins with geocompounds to avoid sulphates and other aggressive agents dissolved in the rain or irrigation water penetrating into the paving.

Application Procedure

  • Dampen the substrate without swamping the surface.
  • Mix the product with water in a mixer.
  • Spread the semi-dry mixture over the substrate maintaining a constant thickness.
  • Level the product, regulating between the enclosure limits.
  • Compact with a roller compactor, taking into consideration that the compaction reduces the thickness by around 25%, for which reference boards can be used to supplement the enclosure limit thickness. The objective of this compaction is that the dry product density is above 95% of Proctor Normal. Compaction should be carried out in a maximum time of 2 hours after mixing the product.
  • Enclosure limits such as plates or boards are often left as permanent formwork, visible in the finished work; it is possible the use of flat facing stones in work joints or other decorative elements that will be finally integrated into the paving.
  • The finish can be left smooth after passage of compaction roller or a loose grain finish can be obtained with a soft brushing with a polypropylene bristle broom or by raking right after compaction.
  • It is necessary to maintain the humidity of the working surface for at least a week with spray irrigation, taking care not to wash the recently compacted surface. Damp burlap can be used to cover the treated surface.
Type of use Prior treatment Layer of seating Layer of PAVILAND NATURE
Pedestrian paths If the substrate's capacity is insufficient, a hollow will need to be made and filled with a layer of natural gravel settlement, max diameter 50 mm 15 cm after compaction > 7 cm after compaction
Parks 15 cm after compaction 15-20 cm after compaction
Areas of light traffic 20 cm after compaction > 20 cm after compaction

"The carrying out of a test section is recommendable to establish the construction procedure and to check the end result required".

  • Opening to pedestrian traffic: 24 hours
  • Opening to circulation of light vehicles: 15 days

Recommendations

  • Avoid using heavy rollers when the thickness to be applied is low.
  • Work at a temperature between 5ºC and 30ºC.
  • In case of strong sun and/or wind (risk of dehydrating of the Paviland surface) cover with damp burlap, if plastic sheeting is used as a covering, spray the work area first with water.
  • In case of heavy rain, only plastic sheeting can avoid the product washing.
  • Do not start work if there is a risk of frost for the week after applying the product.
  • It is advisable to incorporate a gentle slope (2%) into the design in order to facilitate the discharge of water drained through the soil and to avoid saturation.

Packaging and Storage

1500 kg big bag and 25 kg laminated paper sacks.
