Additional information

Advantages and Uses

  • Suitable on sub floor heating systems
  • Good wetting properties
  • Good adhesion to non porous materials
  • Binding primer for installations
  • Binding primer for levelling compounds
  • Easy to apply
  • Can be diluted with water

Suitable Substrates

  • Mastic asphalt screed.
  • Calcium sulphate (flow) floors (no moisture barrier).
  • Wooden planks, wood fibre boards.
  • Chipboards V100 (E1), OSB boards.
  • Stone, ceramic, terrazzo, tiles.
  • Unlaminated gypsum fibre boards.
  • Cement floors.
  • Cement floors with residual moisture.

Application Procedure

  • Paviland Primer Ceramic is a ready-to-use primer for non-absorbent or dense surfaces such as stone, ceramic, terrazzo, and tiles.
  • Before use, the container should be shaken well to disperse any settled material.
  • The primer must not be diluted.
  • Apply a thin, even coat using a medium-pile roller. Avoid over-application and ensure no puddles form.
  • Allow the Paviland Primer Ceramic to dry for approximately 2–3 hours, depending on site conditions such as substrate type, ventilation, humidity, and temperature. Once dry, the surface will show a hard, translucent red film with fine quartz aggregate.
  • Self-levelling compounds should be applied within 24 hours of primer application. If the primed surface is exposed for more than 48 hours or becomes dusty, a fresh coat of Paviland Primer Ceramic must be applied before proceeding.

Recommendations

  • The subfloor must be checked according to the standard DIN 18356, DIN 18365, DIN 18367 or corresponding national standards. The subfloor shall be resistant to pressure and tension, free of cracks, must have sufficient surface strength, be permanently dry, level, clean and free of anti- adherents, sinter layers etc.
  • Calciumsulfate (flow) floors and magnesite floors must be permanently dry, cement floors with residual moisture may receive as damp proof membrane by applying the Paviland Primer Ceramic.
  • The maximum admissible residual moisture for cement floors is 3 CM%.
  • The substrate must be always dry or slightly moistened but never puddly.
  • Do not apply the product under temperatures of 15ºC nor above 35ºC.
  • Within 72 hours after application, levelling compounds can applied on primer.
