Technical Caracteristics

Product based on special cements, selected aggregates and additives.

Advantages and Uses

  • Indoor floor levelling.
  • High mechanic resistance.
  • High resistance to abrasion.
  • Excellent levelling qualities.
  • Fast setting.
  • Up to 10 mm thickness.
  • Suitable for radiant heating.

Suitable Substrates

  • Concrete, cementitious flooring and similar elements.
  • Substrates must be resistant, stable, sound and clean, free of dust, demolding agents, organic products, etc.
  • Apply Paviland Primer R to avoid the formation of air bubbles in the coating and improve its adhesion to the support.
  • If necessary, prepare the surface by mechanical means, so that it has a surface without surface laitance and of adequate porosity
  • Before the application of PAVILAND SL 10R, cokes and/or cracks must be properly repaired that could be found in the support using the products of the Paviland or Morcemrest range according to the nature of the support and the type of repair to be carried out
  • Before applying the paste, make sure that residual moisture is below the recommended proportion (less than 3%).

Application Procedure

  • Mix the product with water (5.40-5.64 L per each 23 Kg bag), with a mechanic mixer at low speed (500 rpm approximately) until getting a homogeneous paste without lumps. It is essential to add the exact specified amount of water in order to avoid the segregation of the product, high retractions and a decrease in resistance.
  • Define and mark the maximum level of the floor slab.
  • The discharge area must be established avoiding  zones with different setting times. For this to be achieved the means available to carry out the work must be considered, as well as the environmental conditions and the open time of the mortar.  Partition joints can be perform by confining previously the discharge areas, avoiding their subsequent realization by cutting.
  • Let the mixture settle for 2 minutes and remix.
  • The manipulation time of the mixed product is 20 minutes, depending on the weather conditions.
  • Pour the mixed product on the base to be set and spread with a levelling trowel.
  • The recommended thickness is 2 – 10 mm. applied in one coat.

Recommendations

  • Application temperature range from 5ºC to 40ºC.
  • Do not apply when there is a risk of frost, strong wind or direct sun.
  • Not recommended for exterior use.
  • Do not apply on floor with humidity or with a risk of having it.
  • Once the product has been mixed and the resting time has occurred, do not add additional water.
  • Keep in mind the workability time of the product when planning of the works.
  • For floors larger than 20 m2 or longer than 10 lineal metres, it is advisable to make partitioning joints, delimiting panels with 6 mm joints that can be sealed with PUMALASTIC MS or PU.
  • Movement joints on the original substrate must be respected and permiteral joints made.
  • The surface coat must be protected from drying too quickly, especially in conditions with high temperatures and/or strong winds.
  • Before laying the final flooring check the residual humidity of the floor and confirm it is adequate for the type of flooring to be installed.
Application in floors with underfloor heating
  • The heating system should be switched off at least 48 hours before the application.
  • The heating system should be switched on gradually by increasing the temperature in 2-3 ° C intervals until the operating temperature is reached. This operation must be performed in stages for a period of 48 hours.
  • Drying times must be respected before switching on the heating system. At least 48 hours.

Packaging and Storage

23 kg plastic-lined paper bags.
