Technical Caracteristics

Polyethylene anchor fixings with steel screws.

Advantages and Uses

  • Easy and quick to use. Pre-assembled screw.
  • Ensures high quality fastening of insulation panels to the substrate.
  • Anchor fixings with European Certification.
  • Possibility of concealed anchoring in the system.
  • Fixing insulation panels in external thermal insulation system Traditerm®(EWI/ETICS).
  • ETA usage category: A=Concrete / B=Solid Brick / C=Perforated/Hollow Brick, D =Lightweight Concrete / E=Aerated Concrete.
  • Range of sizes according to thickness of insulation panel.

Application Procedure

24 hours after fixing the insulation panels to the substrate with Traditerm® adhesive, drill a hole in the surface of the substrate going through the insulation panel. The drill bit should be 8 mm diameter.

Use the drill in rotary mode, except when the substrate is concrete or solid brick, in which case use it in hammer mode.

There are two methods of installing Traditerm STR U 2G Fixing Anchors:

Interior Insulation Method.
Place the fixing anchor over the hole and turn towards the inside with the aid of the “Traditerm STR Capping Kit”.
Once the insulation fixing has been inserted, position the corresponding “Traditerm Insulation Cap” according to the insulation type.

Surface Method.
Position the fixing anchor over the drilled hole and turn so that it penetrates the surface of the insulation panel by 1-2 mm.
Next, position the "Traditerm® STR Plug" and level the surface with Traditerm® mortar.

Recommendations

  • The fixing should be inserted at least 25 mm into the substrate Categories A, B, C and D and 65 mm inside substrate Category E.
  • The anchor should be cut 1 mm into the insulation panel in the case of the Surface Method. If the anchor is not inserted into the insulation panel, it will be visible in the final finish.
  • Check that the anchors are well secured.
  • The following STR U 2G fixing anchors are recommended, according to the thickness of the insulation panel:
Type of anchorage Thickness of TRADITERM panel (mm) Anchor block length (10 mm thick adhesive mortar layer + 20 mm thick existing plaster layer) Minimum number of anchors / m2 (Typical situations) Approval of anchor plug
Supports type A,B,C y D Supports type E
