Paviland® Recrecido

Normal-setting flowing screed mortar for the preparation of floors subject to pedestrian traffic, for interior and exterior use, which, once hardened, shall be covered with discontinuous floor coverings (parquet, carpet, ceramic tiles, vinyl flooring, etc.). This flowing screed mortar is suitable for use with underfloor heating systems.

Technical Caracteristics

Product based on cement, selected aggregates, and additives.

Advantages and Uses

  • Screeding and levelling of interior and exterior floors for pedestrian traffic.
  • Suitable for radiant heating floors.
  • Easy to apply, providing surfaces with high flatness.
  • High mechanical strengths.
  • Floor screed for thicknesses between 10–60 mm.
  • Particularly suitable as a screed prior to the installation of ceramic tiles in exterior applications.

Suitable Substrates

  • Concrete, mortar floors and similar.
  • Substrates must be resistant enough, stable, sound, and clean. Free of dust, release agents, organic products, etc.
  • Prior to the application of PAVILAND RECRECIDO, any honeycombs and/or cracks present in the substrate must be properly repaired.
  • Before applying the product, make sure that residual moisten is below the recommended one (bellow 3%).
  • Apply Paviland Primer R to avoid the formation of air bubbles in the render and improve its adhesion to the substrate.

Application Procedure

  • Define and mark the maximum levels of the screed layer.
  • Mix the product with water, starting at 16% of the dry weight until the desired consistency is achieved, without exceeding 18% (between 4.0 and 4.5 litres per 25 kg bag). Mechanically mix using low-speed mortar mixers (< 500 r.p.m.) until a fluid and homogeneous paste is obtained (free of lumps).
  • Apply the mixed product by pouring or pumping it onto the substrate and spread it using a levelling trowel, smoothing, and correcting any imperfections.
  • For large areas, it is recommended to pump the mixture using twin-spiral mixers capable of delivering 20–40 L/min. This procedure helps to optimise installation times.
  • Once the product has been spread, it is recommended to pass a spiked roller over the surface to remove air bubbles, then re-smooth with the levelling trowel to achieve a completely smooth surface.
  • 10 to 60 mm thickness.
  • Respect structural joints and create perimeter and partition joints.

Recommendations

  • Do not apply the product under 5ºC nor above 30ºC temperature.
  • Do not apply under the risk of frost, rain, heavy wind, or direct sun light. Do not apply on moisten floors.
  • Do not add sand, cement, or any other material that may alter the original formulation.
  • Once the product has been mixed, and its resting time has elapsed, do not add any water.
  • For floors with a surface area greater than 20 m² or a linear length exceeding 10 metres, it is recommended to create partition joints, dividing the surface into approximately square panels with a minimum width of 6 mm, filled with PUMALASTIC PU.
  • Avoid contact with perimeter elements by creating perimeter joints with a minimum width of 6 mm and a depth between 10 and 30 mm, filled with PUMALASTIC PU.
  • Before installing the final floor covering, check with a carbide hygrometer that the residual moisture is < 3%.
  • For exterior applications, it is essential to protect the screed from direct sunlight for the first 24 hours and from rain until the final floor covering is installed.

Packaging and Storage

25 Kg plastic bags.
