Additional information

Composition

Product based on high resistance cement, selected aggregates, additives and synthetic resins that guarantee a high grip strength, excellent workability and resistant to ageing.

Features and applications

  • Excellent workability.
  • Creamy aspect with high consistence for a better application.
  • Reduced slipping. Excellent initial adherence.
  • High open time, it allows the rectification of pieces as well.
  • Adhesion of all type of ceramic (clinker, etc.), porcelanic clay, marble, granite and natural stone.
  • Interior and exterior application.
  • Gluing of radiant heating floor and overlays on interior floors.
  • Swimming pools' cladding.
  • Suitable for pavements with intense traffic transit.
  • Suitable for placing pieces up to 40 x 40 cm on exterior cladding of up to 3 m height.

Substrates

  • Conventional substrates based on cement, plaster or anhydrite without the need of primer.
  • Marble, granite, terrazzo, natural stone substrates and all type of ceramics for interior flooring.
  • Suitable for placement on all type of laminated plasterboard partitions (type PYL).
  • Do not apply on top of paint.
  • Substrates must be resistant, stable and healthy and clean, free of dust, remains of release agents and organic products.
  • All substrates must have an adequate flatness. If not, make screeds of up to 5 mm with the same product 48 hours before gluing. For greater thickness you should use:
    • In screeds: levelling paste or beams screed mortar, depending on the substrate or need.
    • In coatings: regularization mortars with adequate tensile strength and with the curing shrinkage already completed
  • In case of hot temperatures, wind or very absorbent substrates, moister the substrate and wait until the complete film of water disappears.
  • In outdoors pavements, the substrate should have a slope equal to or greater than 1%

Instructions for use

  • Add water (26% -30%) and mix manually or mechanically until a homogeneous and workable consistency is obtained.
  • Let the mixture rest for 7 minutes and mix it again.
  • Spread the mixed product on the substrate with a trowel over a maximum extension of 2m2.
  • Comb the area with a dented trowel to level the thickness (see table)
  • Place the pieces on top of the fresh adhesive, adding some pressure and moving them until getting the total flattening of the grooves and a correct adhesion of the entire ceramic surface. Periodically check the stickiness of the adhesive by lifting a previously laid tile, if a non-transfer film appears on the surface of the adhesive or dehydration of the adhesive, proceed to remove the material and apply a new product.
  • Use the double gluing method outdoors, for formats greater than 900 cm2, on floors for commercial or industrial use, when working with  radiant heating, when laying ceramic sheets, if levelling systems are used or if the tiles have a relief such that good contact with the adhesive is difficult.
  • Respect the construction joints (expansion, contraction, fractionation, perimeter joints) and the joints between tiles (minimum of 2 mm indoors and 5 mm outdoors).
  • The joints will be filled after 24 hours on vertical walls and 48 hours on pavements.
  • Use the corresponding mortar from the MORCEMCOLOR RANGE, depending on the type of joint.

NOTE: The shorter the time between combing and laying the tile, the better results will be obtained.

Notched-trowel panel

Maximum weight of tiles on vertical walls: 40 kg/m2

TILE FORMAT  NOTCHED TROWEL GLUING
< 100 cm2 U4 (4 x 4 x 4) Simple
≤ 450 cm2 U6 (6 x 6 x 6) Simple
≤ 900 cm2 U6 (6 x 6 x 6) / U9 (9 x 9 x 9) or ∩10 Double – Simple
> 900 cm2 U9 (9 x 9 x 9) or ∩10 Double

Cautions and recommendations

  • Do not apply the product under extreme weather conditions.
  • Do not apply it under the rick of freeze, rains, heavy winds or direct sun light.
  • Never apply it using the "dots" technique.
  • Temperatures, ventilation, absorption of the substrate and coating materials can vary the workability and setting times of the adhesive.
  • Under extreme weather conditions (heavy wind or high temperatures) the drying process may be faster than usual..
  • In pavements and wall tiles with a surface greater than 50 m² indoors and 30 m² outdoors or on elongated surfaces of more than 15 linear meters, it is recommended to leave partition or fraction joints filled with a deformable material.
  • It is recommended to leave a free perimeter expansion joint between the flooring and the wall or pillar, hidden by the skirting board, of approximately 5 mm. These joints must be filled with a deformable material
  • On  radiant heating floors, apply when the substrate is at room temperature (between 5ºC and 30ºC).
  • When working with radiant flooring, the heater must be switched off at least 48 hours before and the ignition must take place gradually after at least 7 days from the installation of the flooring and the grouting operation.
  • Pools may be filled with water after 7 days the adhesive has been applied.
  • The watertightness of the pool must be ensured by the execution of its glass,
  • In applications on laminated plasterboard partitions, check the substrate is well fixed to avoid movements.
  • Anhydrite screeds must be perfectly dry (maximum residual humidity 0.5%), hard enough and free of dust or surface grout, in the latter case, it must be removed by sanding.
  • On ceramic floors (overlays), remove the badly adhered pieces and fill the gaps with mortar the day before applying the product. Make sure that the old ceramics are free of grease or wax residues, if necessary proceed with the milling of the glazed surface until the old ceramics lose their shine. In case of doubt, carry out a preliminary test to establish the suitability of the solution provided.
  • Use a suitable adhesive with greater deformability when working with slate.
  • For reinforced pieces with fibreglass mesh glued on the back, consult our technical department.
  • Parts that may stain due to their high water absorption should be attached with quick-setting adhesives.
