Additional information

Composition

Product based on hydraulic conglomerates, selected aggregates, porogenic additives and saline efflorescence inhibitors.

Features and applications

  • Sanitation of walls affected by rising damp.
  • Prevents the appearance of salt thanks to its high porosity.
  • Conservation of walls technically and aesthetically for years in accordance with water-saline content of soil.
  • Reduces the appearance of interior condensation and mold.
  • High permeability to water vapour. Dehumidifying properties. - Direct application without need to fill with mortar.
  • Application on brickwork, natural stone, concrete block and other porous materials.
  • Easy application and excellent adhesion to the substrate.
  • Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
  • Application on the lower part of wall to be sanitised.

Substrates

  • Substrates must be resistant, stable, sound and clean, free of dust, demolding agents, organic products, microorganisms, etc.
  • In case of hot or windy weather conditions or when applying over absorbent substrates, it is advisable to wet the substrate and wait till the thin layer of water disappears.
  • At singular points (joints between different materials, welds, pillars...) reinforce the mortar with fibreglass to avoid cracking.

Instructions for use

  • Add water (between 4.75 and 5.25 litres for each 25 kilo sack) and mix manually or mechanically for at least 5 minutes until a workable and uniform consistency is obtained.
  • Spread the mixed product over the dampened substrate with the assistance of a blade or trowel, do not apply excessive pressure to avoid closing the pore of the paste, and build up to a thickness of 20  mm. The maximum thickness should be 40 mm applied in two coats of 20 mm.
  • Create the finish by scraping or trowelling with a wooden trowel (thus keeping the porosity open) once the required consistency has been achieved.
  • Only cover with highly breathable materials.
  • Compatible with the range of lime mortars; MORCEM ESTUCO or highly breathable mineral paints.

Cautions and recommendations

  • Do not apply under 5ºC nor above 30ºC.
  • Do not apply when there is a risk of frost, rain, strong wind or direct sunlight, or with the substrate heated.
  • Do not apply on plastered or painted surfaces.
  • Over substrates in a bad condition or for larger thicknesses it is necessary to reinforce the mortar with meshing (consult the technical service).
  • Do not finish MORCEMREST MUR with unbreathable materials (plastic paints, enamels, stone, ceramic...).
  • For indoor applications MORCEMREST MUR increases the relative humidity of the atmosphere. Avoid applying in places without ventilation.
  • The height of application should be 50 cm above the damp stain.
  • According to CTE in the Basic Sanitation document DB - HS 1: Protection against humidity, when the façade is constructed from porous covering, to protect it you must have a skirting board or other material with a suction coefficient lower than 3% in order to protect it from the rising damp and splashes.  Minimum 1 cm from the floor.

Packaging

25 kg plastic-lined paper bags.
Shelf life: 1 year in sealed original packaging, sheltered from weather conditions and humidity.
