Additional information

Composition

Mono-component product based on high resistance cement, selected aggregates, additives and synthetic resins that guarantee high grip strength, excellent workability and resistance to ageing and high flexibility.

Features and applications

  • Excellent workability.
  • Reduced slippage, excellent initial adhesion.
  • High open time, allows the rectification of parts.
  • Very deformable. S2 type according to UNE-EN 12002.
  • No need for moistening pieces or substrates thanks to its water retention power.
  • Adhesion of all kind of ceramic pieces (double firing, single firing, clinker, etc.), porcelain stoneware, marble, granite, slate and natural stone.
  • Suitable for big format tiles and/or low thicknesses tiles.
  • Suitable for Indoors and outdoors applications.
  • Highly recommended for façades.
  • Adhesion of big surfaces with heavy traffic, radiant heating floors, overlaps and cold rooms. • Swimming pools tiling.
  • Large surfaces with heavy traffic.
  • Suitable for tiling on cementitious waterproofing surfaces.

Substrates

  • Cement base conventional substrates.
  • Suitable for any kind of laminated plasterboard.
  • Marble, granite, terrazzo, natural stone and all kinds of ceramic substrates in interior and exterior flooring and interior claddings.
  • Do not apply on top of paint.
  • Substrates must be resistant, stable and sound. They must be clean and free of dust, remains of release agents, organic products, micro-organisms, etc.
  • All substrates must have a suitable flatness. If this is not the case, make screeds of up to 5 mm with the same product 48 hours before gluing.
    • For greater thicknesses use:
    • - On floors: levelling paste or screed mortar, depending on the substrate or need.
    • - On walls: mortars with an adequate tensile strength and completely cured (with drying shrinkage already complete).
  • In case of heat, wind or very absorbent substrates, it is convenient to moisten the substrate and wait for the water film to disappear.
  • On outdoor pavements, the substrate must present a slope equal to or greater than 1%.

Instructions for use

  • Add water (20% - 25%) and mix manually or mechanically until getting a homogeneous and easy to work with consistence.
  • Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes and mix again.
  • Spread the kneaded product on the substrate with a trowel to a maximum area of 2m².
  • Comb the area with a notched trowel to adjust the thickness (See Table).
  • Place the pieces on the fresh adhesive, pressing and moving until the grooves are fully flattened and the entire surface of the ceramic adheres correctly. Periodically check the stickiness of the adhesive by lifting a previously placed tile, if you notice the appearance of a film without transfer on the surface of the adhesive or dehydration of the adhesive, remove the material and apply a new product.
  • Tile placement using the double-glue method outdoors, for formats larger than 900 cm2, on commercial or industrial use flooring in case of having radiant heating floor, when laying ceramic sheets, if levelling systems are used or if the tiles have a relief such that it hinders good contact with the adhesive.
  • Respect the construction joints (expansion, contraction, fractioning, perimeter corner joints) and installation between tiles (minimum 2 mm indoors and 5 mm outdoors).
  • Filling of the joints will be carried out 24 hours after in vertical parameters and 48 hours after in pavements. Use suitable joint products, according to the type of joint.

NOTE: The shorter the time between combing and laying the tile, the better results will be obtained.

Cautions and recommendations

  • Do not apply bellow 5ºC nor above 30ºC.
  • Do not apply the product with risk of frost, rain, strong winds or direct sun.
  • Never apply with the technique known as “by points”
  • Temperatures, ventilation, absorption of the substrate and coating materials can vary the workability and setting times of the adhesive.
  • Under extreme weather conditions (very windy or high temperatures) drying occurs faster than normal.
  • Tiled areas of walls and floors above 50 m2 indoor and 30 m2 outdoor or elongated more than 15 linear m it is recommended to divide them with joints filled with a deformable grout among PUMALASTIC range.
  • It is advisable to leave a free perimeter expansion joint between the flooring and the wall or pillar, hidden by the skirting board, of approximately 5 mm. These joints should be filled with a deformable material.
  • On floors with underfloor heating, apply when the substrate is at room temperature (between 5ºC and 30ºC).
  • Underfloor radiant heating floors must be turned off at least 48 hours before and the ignition must be carried out gradually after at least 7 days from the installation of the pavement and the grouting operation.
  • Swimming pools can be refilled 7 days after the adhesive has been applied.
  • The watertightness of the swimmingpool must be guaranteed by the underlying structure.
  • In applications on laminated plasterboard walls, check that the substrate is well fixed to prevent movement.
  • On ceramic pavements (overlays), remove the badly adhered pieces and fill the gaps with mortar the day before the application of the new tiling. Ensure that the old ceramic is free of traces of fats or waxes, if necessary proceed to the milling of the enameled surface until the loss of brightness of the old ceramic. In case of doubt, make a preliminary test to establish the suitability of the solution provided.
  • In façades and exterior areas, the application of the material will always be done with mechanic fixation, under any of the following conditions: formats superior to 2400 cm2, a piece with one of the sides larger than 60cm, a weight superior to 40 kg/m2 , or an application above 3m high.
  • For pieces reinforced with fibreglass mesh glued on the backside, consult the technical department.
  • Refrigerated chambers must be turned off until the correct curing of the adhesive occurs, at least 7 days depending on environmental conditions.
  • Tiles that might get stains due to their high-water absorption should be placed with a fast-setting adhesive.
