Features and applications

Substrates

  • Painted or plastered supports.
  • Cement-based mortars.
  • The supports should be resistant, stable, free of defects and dust, clean, remnants of release agents, organic products, salts, molds, microorganisms, etc.
  • In case of remains of molds, algae or microorganisms, the surface should be previously treated with bleach or a specific biocide.
  • In case of remnants of salts, please treat with an acid dilution  (DILUTEDDESMOR )
  • Anhydrous gypsum plasters or poorly adhered supports must be treated before their renovation.
  • Dusty supports must be fixated with FIJAMORWhen there are wide cracks or major imperfections on the support, it is recommended to apply NOVAPLAST STANDARD  to fill and smooth the support.
  • For surfaces with wax finish touch, apply a FIJAMOR pimer. 

Instructions for use

  • Slightly mix PUMAPLAST LISTO AL USO before using it to ensure a complete homogenization.
  • It can be applied manually or mechanically spreading the product with a spatula or gun. It is advisable to use nozzles No. 27, 28, 29 and 30, depending on the type of putty that will be used, as well as the machine and working pressure.
  • After the drying process, the surface should be sanded.
  • After this, a second plastering should be applied horizontally, from right to left, encompassing the joints from left to right.
  • After this second coat is dry, the surface should be sanded and the quality of the finish should be verified in order to attest the absence of imperfections before the paint is applied.
  • Apply an adequate primer to homogenize the absorption before painting, texturizing, applying wallpaper or any other decoration technique, ensuring that the putty is completely dry.
  • The paint’s, or any other material used for decoration purposes, manufacturer's instructions must be taken into account, also the specific indications of the painter for these types of supports, as indicated in the Royal Decree 615/2013 of August 2nd that establishes the certification of the painter.

Cautions and recommendations

  • Do not apply below 5ºC nor above 30ºC.
  • It should not be applied in cases above 85 % of humidity.
  • Ideal ventilation conditions must be maintained for a correct drying process and to avoid excess moisture. The use of dehumidifiers may be necessary.
  • Do not apply on walls subjected to permanent humidity.
  • Do not mix with other products or additives.
  • Do not apply or mix the product when there is risk of frost.
  • Moisture, extreme cold or heat conditions during storage will accelerate the aging of the product and may alter the performance of the putty.
  • Remnants of the putty in the original container should be tightly closed to maintain the product’s properties.
  • Work tools must be cleaned with clean water before each mixture.
  • Do not paint or apply any coating with another decoration technique before verifying the putty  is completely dry, clean and free of dust.
