Traditerm® Malla de Refuerzo

Fiberglass mesh with anti-alkali treatment and double twist threads, which combined with TRADITERM® Mesh, is used as a reinforcement to increase the impact resistance of those areas of the TRADITERM® System exposed to direct knocks. Ideal for reinforcing skirting boards (baseboards). It is fire resistant. TRADITERM® MALLA DE REFUERZO is resistant to cracking. Excellent tensile strenght and great flexiblity. In addition, it has a high resistance to shock.

Instructions for use

TRADITERM® Reinforcing Mesh, has to be combined with TRADITERM® Mesh.

  • In the area to be reinforced, apply a coat of TRADITERM® mortar to the insulation panel and then comb with a notched trowel.
  • Spread out the TRADITERM® Reinforcing Mesh, unrolling the roll horizontally onto the combed surface and crush the grooves by pressing with a trowel. Cover the mesh with the TRADITERM® mortar which protrudes. Although the mesh is covered, its grids should still be visible. This coat should have a thickness of 1.5 – 2 mm.
  • TRADITERM® Reinforcing Mesh is not overlapped at joins between meshes.
  • Once the surface obtained is dry, apply a new coat of TRADITERM® mortar to it and then comb with a notched trowel.
  • Unroll the TRADITERM® Mesh onto the combed surface from top to bottom and crush the grooves by pressing with a trowel. Cover the mesh with the TRADITERM® mortar which protrudes. Although the mesh is covered, its grids should still be visible. This coat should have a thickness of 1.5 – 2 mm.
  • Joins between meshes should be overlapped by a minimum of 10 cm.
  • Once this reinforced coat has obtained some resistance, a new 1.5 – 2 mm coat of TRADITERM® mortar is applied to hide the grids of the mesh and finish the coated surface.
 

Cautions and recommendations

  • Control the minimum thicknesses of TRADITERM® mortar required to apply the mesh.
  • Handling this product does not require special care, although it may cause some irritation to more sensitive skin. If this happens, wash with plenty of cold water and soap.
